At present a mid-set 1970's house is located on a typical 800m2 block, in Banyo (suburban Brisbane). The client has identified a potential opportunity to remove the existing house and divide the site into 2 narrow lots, each having a 10m frontage.

The brief required the construction of 2 new 4 bedroom homes with double garages. The narrow lots have presented a number of design challenges, in particular creating usable outdoor spaces, maintaining privacy, and allowing natural light into the ground floor living areas. The modest budget has also meant that modular / prefabricated construction methods have been explored to reduce cost.
